Hawk was established in 1996, by Rob and Mike, in 2004 they joined forces with Bernie Facer of Double B bat makers, bringing over 40 years experience and knowledge of willow, which put him in the top handful of bat makers in the world. Over the next 6 years Bernie passed on his expertise and craftsmanship to Robert and Michael before he retired, to take up the challenge of the golf course. Their aim is simple, to make the finest cricket bats, from the very best English Willow, sourced from J S Wright, Essex (supply highest quality soft leather goods and cricket equipment) and for the committed cricketer. Generous Local Businessman Supports Gala Dinner
BIG-HEARTED Wordsley businessman Geoff Hill has risen to the challenge of supporting The D’Oliveira Foundation by donating a state of the art compact Zanussi vacuum cleaner to be used as a raffle prize at our Gala Dinner in September. Geoff has donated well over £250,000 to a host of good causes through his charitable trust, which he runs from the profits of his electrical superstore in Amblecote and said "I've enjoyed doing it; it's nice to help and people appreciate it. There's a lot of great people out there in the community”. The trust sees ten per cent of the net profits from Geoff's successful shop donated to needy Black Country groups - many of which receive no funding from other sources. Over the years scout groups, sports clubs, children’s charities, community organisations and deserving individuals have benefitted.
